That person has issued a challenge of sorts, and has drawn an invisible line in the sand. But do you really need to prove yourself? Doesn't everyone already know how honorable, reliable, and intelligent you are? Yes, most of them do. But that certain someone who is issuing the challenge is not quite convinced. That's not a reflection on you, though. It has more to do with his/her personal insecurities and recent negative experiences that have no relation to you.
